Crystal Palace assistant manager Michael Angerschmid has heaped praise on the club’s player’s for accepting the ideas they brought when replacing Roy Hodgson earlier this season.
The Crystal Palace number two was talking to Bezirks Rundschau following the impressive 4-0 win over Manchester United on Monday evening.
That result was the latest in a series of impressive performances for Crystal Palace in recent weeks, with the club flourishing under Oliver Glasner.
He replaced Roy Hodgson at the club in February and after something of a slow start has started to see his plan come to fruition.
A win over Liverpool at Anfield last month has sparked a superb run of form that’s seen them beat West Ham 5-2, Newcastle United 2-0 and Manchester United 4-0 as well as drawing 1-1 with Fulham.
Things are looking up under the Austrian, who appears to have got the side clicking into gear, with several players who were struggling under Hodgson now shining.
It’s led to plenty of optimism about what they may be able to achieve next season, particularly if they are able to keep the likes of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.
Angerschmid is certainly optimistic, praising the Crystal Palace squad for the manner in which they’ve accepted Glasner’s ideas.
“But of course it was a very good performance,” he said.
“A 4-0 win against Manchester United is not a given. The team immediately accepted and implemented our idea of football. Now we are being rewarded for it.
“We have now settled in well on the island, but that wasn’t difficult either. The club is helping us wherever they can, and everyone is very helpful.”
