Everyone at Everton Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic deaths of Evertonians Aviv and Livnat Kutz and their teenage children Rotam Kutz (19), Yonatan Kutz (16) and Yiftach Kutz (14).
The Club has been informed by the Israeli Toffees Supporters’ Club that the entire family were murdered in their homes in a terrorist incident in Kfar-Aza on 7 October.
Aviv, Yonatan and Yiftach were avid Blues, part of the Israeli Toffees Supporters’ Club and regularly watched games together on TV. Aviv and his two sons made the journey to Goodison Park to attend their first fixture against Manchester United last season and, just four weeks ago, were at Everton’s Premier League match with Arsenal.
During that Arsenal visit in September, Aviv, Yonatan and Yiftach met and posed for pitchside photos with Club Ambassador Ian Snodin.
Everton, alongside all Premier League clubs, continue to voice their condemnation of the deaths of all innocent people.
As a mark of respect for the Kutz family as well as all of the innocent victims of brutal violence, our players will wear black armbands and observe a moment’s silence ahead of this weekend’s Merseyside derby. This gesture will be replicated across the Premier League as football unites in its call for peace and recognition for those impacted by these events around the world.
Further big screen and a matchday programme tributes are planned for Everton’s next home fixture on 1 November.
