Only hours after his wife gave birth, Bruins’ Brandon Carlo scores a huge goal in the playoffs.

The second child of Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo and his wife Mayson was born on Monday morning.

Just hours before the Bruins were scheduled to play the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, Carlo, who was in attendance for the birth of his first son, Crew, took a Monday afternoon flight into Miami and arrived at the arena.

Carlo scored the team’s third goal of the game in the second period to give Boston some insurance in their 5-1 triumph in Game 1.

After the game, Carlo told the reporters that he wasn’t sure he would get to the arena in time to suit up and play on Monday night.

Yes, Carlo replied, “we sped it up as fast as we could.” “We were flipping her around, putting her upside down – whatever we could do to get that baby out of there.”

Carlo not only arrived in time, but he also had a significant effect as the Bruins defeated the Panthers in game one of the series and snatched home ice.

Jeremy Swayman, the Boston goalie who has had a tremendous postseason thus far, stated that Carlo’s goal will rank among the most unforgettable moments of

“I don’t celebrate often but I raised my hands with that one,” remarked Swayman.

“What he accomplished today is very amazing. His excitement was evident in his manner. I have no idea what it’s like to leave your wife and child at home after anything like that.

And Mayson is a major part of this squad also because of that, and I’m sure that letting him come here and supporting him will go down as one of my favorite memories from this playoff run.”

On Wednesday night, the Bruins and Panthers will play Game 2, and Carlo will undoubtedly play a significant role once more.
