Which rookie quarterback will have the easiest transition to the NFL?
Check out the results of this national SB Nation Reacts survey.
Six quarterbacks were drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and each enters a much different situation with varying expectations.
The recent SB Nation Reacts survey, which was emailed to fans of all 32 teams, asked the question: Which first-round quarterback will have the easiest transition into the NFL?
USC’s Caleb Williams went first overall to the Chicago Bears.
The Washington Commanders drafted LSU’s Jayden Daniels next, and the New England Patriots took North Carolina’s Drake Maye with the third overall pick.
The first big surprise of the draft happened at eight overall when the Atlanta Falcons selected Michael Penix Jr. from the University of Washington.
Two picks later, the Minnesota Vikings drafted J.J. McCarthy from the University of Michigan,
Oregon’s Bo Nix went at twelve to the Denver Broncos.
Unsurprisingly, the most talented player landing on a team coming off a seven-win campaign was the leading vote-getter. Chicago’s offense has three quality receivers, two productive tight ends, and a talented stable of running backs, which gives offensive coordinator Shane Waldron plenty of options.
McCarthy and Daniels are also stepping into offenses with quality playmakers, but neither has it better than Williams.
