ESPN Report: Klich sends two-word message to Leif Davis as Ipswich beat Leeds United to promotion

The final game of the season saw huge celebrations for Ipswich Town as they finished second to secure back-to-back promotions, finishing well clear of Leeds United in third.

The last two weeks have proven massively decisive in the promotion run-in for Leeds and Ipswich Town, but not in Daniel Farke’s favour this time.

Leeds’ woeful run of form since March’s international break saw then spiral out of control in the race for second, with Ipswich taking full advantage.

Leeds 1-2 Southampton: Ipswich promoted
Anything other than an Ipswich defeat would have seen the Tractor Boys promoted on Saturday, with Leeds also needing to beat Southampton to stand any chance of a final day upset.

They faced Huddersfield Town, essentially relegated barring an improbable goal difference swing, and cruised to a 2-0 win to confirm promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds fell to defeat at home to Southampton, seeing Farke’s side lose their last two home games after being unbeaten throughout the campaign at Elland Road previously.
