Wrexham’s preparations for life in League One next season will be well underway as they look to continue their upward trajectory up the Football League.
Phil Parkinson’s side confirmed back-to-back promotions following victory over Forest Green Rovers earlier this month, and ended their first campaign back in League Two by welcoming champions, Stockport County, to the Stok Cae Ras.
Despite the current campaign yet to conclude, the rumour mill has already begun to spin, with the Red Dragons side already linked with a number of players to join the revolution happening in North Wales, with a familiar face tipped to join the Hollywood-owned club.
Macaulay Langstaff transfer latest
It was reported by the Wrexham Insider that Phil Parkinson’s side are keen to bolster their attacking options next season with the addition of Notts County striker, Macaulay Langstaff.
The Notts striker has continued his goal-scoring form that helped the Magpies return to the Football League along with Wrexham, with the same report also citing Bolton Wanderers and Peterborough United with a move for the 28-year-old.
In January, it was also reported that a number of Championship and League One sides were interested in the striker’s services, with Sunderland, Birmingham City and Derby County among some of the names linked with Langstaff.
The Notts number nine signed a new deal with the club in August last year, extending his stay at Meadow Lane until the end of the 2026/27 campaign, meaning a sizeable fee will be needed to prize him away from the East Midlands side.
But that could be a tempting offer for the Hollywood-owned club to refuse, especially given the incredible strike force it would create alongside Paul Mullin.

Ever since Langstaff signed for the East Midlands club from Gateshead ahead of the 2022/23 season, he has been in constant competition with the Wrexham talisman.
The pair locked horns not only in their titanic battle at the top of the National League table, but also in the race for the Golden Boot, with the pair amassing 81 goals between them throughout the campaign, with the Magpies number nine ultimately scooping the accolade.
Both players’ tallies ensured they returned to the Football League this term, and both have continued their goal-scoring exploits despite a step-up in quality.
