Coventry City should avoid selling top players -Ally McCoist

The trio impressed for Coventry in their remarkable FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday, in which the Sky Blues came from 3-0 down to take the tie to extra time.

Goals from Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire gave United a two-goal lead before halftime, and Bruno Fernandes looked to have sealed the game for the Red Devils when he added a third in the second half.

However, Coventry then produced an incredible comeback, with Ellis Simms and O’Hare reducing the deficit before Haji Wright’s 95th-minute penalty levelled the scores.

The Sky Blues almost won the game in the last minute of extra time, but Victor Torp’s goal was ruled out as Wright was adjudged to have been offside in the build-up, and United went on to win on penalties.

Coventry will now turn their attention back to the league, but a run of three defeats in four games means their play-off hopes are slim.

The Sky Blues currently sit eighth in the Championship table, but they are nine points behind sixth-placed Norwich City, and even maximum points from their remaining four games may not be enough to reach the top six due to goal difference.
