Chelsea want to negotiate terms of signing

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly battling to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen in the summer window.

On April 11th, Il Mattino reported PSG are one step away from agreeing a deal for the 25-year-old’s transfer.

A day later, the same outlet stated the Blues must do something crazy to get ahead of the Ligue 1 side in the transfer race. It was also said Chelsea, at the moment, are hesitant to proceed with this operation.

This doesn’t mean the Premier League side have given up on the former Lille man. That’s at least what journalist Rudy Galetti is stating, and he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a short update.

Galetti claims the Nigeria international is the ‘main target’ for the west London club, even if ‘things are going slow to date’.

There’s been various reports in Italy stating the frontman has a release clause of €120m/€130m. The journalist makes no mention of the figure, but states that Chelsea ‘want to negotiate the terms’ of his clause with the Naples club.
Chelsea have a need to balance their books, meaning they would have to sell some of their players in the next window. Galetti claims this has to be fulfiled first ‘before starting talks’ with the Serie A side for Osimhen.
