Wrexham owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds Put to a Challenge on FA Cup changes

Wrexham fans have urged Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney to protest the scrapping of FA Cup replays.

The FA have introduced plans to abolish FA Cup replays altogether, leading to a wave of revulsion amongst lower-league clubs. Seventeen League Two clubs have publicly condemned the changes but Wrexham have yet to do so, with the potential of money-spinning replays at Premier League stadia seemingly off the table.Fans have called on Wrexham to make their displeasure clear. @RobRyanRed insisted that Wrexham “need solidarity on this”, while @DanWrexham said: “Still no statement condemning the changes. What exactly are we waiting for?”

The latter tweet also mentioned Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney, and Humphrey Ker, along with Wrexham’s official account.
Wrexham have had storied FA Cup runs in recent seasons. This season, they reached the fourth round but were beaten 4-1 by Blackburn Rovers and last season, they reached the same point, where they lost 3-1 to Sheffield United.

It remains to be seen if Wrexham will show their solidarity to their fellow EFL clubs. In the meantime, they play Crewe Alexandra this weekend.
