Pittsburgh is ‘in trouble, says Former NFL Mike Tomlin.

Mike Tomlin is considered the best in the league by the vast majority of spectators, athletes, and coaches.

Although Pittsburgh has clearly failed recently compared to the team’s expectations, not many people think Mike Tomlin would be a better fit for the Steelers.

John Middlekauff, host of Three & Out and former NFL scout, is one of the select few who:

Steelers Needed to Go On
Middlekauff remarked, “I felt they should’ve moved on from Tomlin last year.” “Like I mentioned, a fresh start is needed. The Steelers, in my opinion, are a little bit troubled. They won’t be bad, but I think of them as being in the same range as they have been.

To be fair to Middlekauff, it’s not a pretentious hot take. Since the middle of the previous season, he has been promoting this narrative and using the Steelers’ recent inconsistency as justification for parting ways with Coach Tomlin.

Although he doesn’t think Tomlin is incapable of coaching, he does believe that both parties should start over, much like Andy Reid did with the Eagles.

Although Reid was widely regarded as one of the league’s greatest coaches while he was in Philadelphia, he was unable to overcome Kansas City’s superiority and left the team, where he has since won three Super Bowls.

In contrast to Reid, though, Tomlin has yet to experience a losing season and possesses a Super Bowl ring from his first stop at HC.

Having said that, Mike Tomlin is getting close to the end of his contract and has not yet signed an extension, in spite of the front office’s opinions.

So Middlekauff’s wish might come true if things in Pittsburgh don’t go as planned this autumn.
