Graham Smyth shares what Stuart Dallas did in behind-the-scenes

Stuart Dallas battled through the tears when telling his Leeds United teammates about his decision to retire from football, according to Graham Smyth.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist tweeted on Wednesday (10 April) that the former Northern Ireland international will be continuing his rehab at Thorp Arch until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old has decided to call time on his player career after struggling to recover sufficiently from a leg fracture he suffered against Manchester City in April 2022.

Stuart Dallas will always have place at Leeds United
There will no doubt always be a place for Dallas at Leeds after all he’s done during his nine years representing the club.

It has been an extremely difficult past couple of years for him, having suffered numerous setbacks on his road to recovery.

It was hoped that he would be able to feature again this season after returning to training earlier in the campaign, but he just hasn’t been able to make the progress he would have liked to continue playing.

The Northern Irishman is a real competitor and will be looking to restart a new chapter in his life now that he has some clarity on his situation.

He will be hoping to help and support the rest of the squad behind the scenes over the next few weeks in their bid to gain promotion back to the Premier League.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have submitted an offer to sign a forward sensation as a fee development has emerged.
