Nuggets wrap up weekend back-to-back against Kings

The Denver Nuggets are wrapping up their second five-game stretch in seven days of the season.

They’ll play the Sacramento Kings (10-7) on Saturday. Here’s a look at the injury report.

INJURY REPORT

Reggie Jackson — PROBABLE (Right Quadriceps Contusion)

Sacramento:

Keegan Murray — QUESTIONABLE (Si Joint Irritation)

Saturday’s game completes Denver’s fifth back-to-back of the season. They’re one of three teams to have that many back-to-backs in the first six weeks of the season, according to John Schuhmann of NBA.com. This back-to-back is especially arduous; both games are on the road, meaning the Nuggets have had to travel twice. Denver took down the Phoenix Suns on Friday, 119-111, for their fifth road victory of the season. It was a huge win. The Nuggets were without two starters, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon.

The victory brought Denver’s overall record to 14-6. They hold sole possession of the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference and are a full game ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder (12-6).

Sacramento’s had a really nice season after beginning the year 2-4. In large part, that strong stretch has correlated with De’Aaron Fox’s return, who dealt with a high ankle sprain to start the year. Fox has been a borderline MVP since coming back, averaging the fourth-most points per game in the entire NBA (30.7) on good shooting splits.

The Kings are a team that likes to get up a lot of three-pointers, hoisting 46.4 per game, third-most in the association. So, defending the three-point line will be important for Denver.
