Tributes pour in as police confirm mum-of-six who died in Coventry suffered ‘stab wounds’
Police were called to Caludon Road in Stoke on Friday
A man and a woman who died in Coventry are believed to have suffered ‘stab wounds.’ Police were called to Caludon Road in Stoke on Friday (April 5).
Officers were called to the residential city street at around 5.30am on Friday. Tents were erected outside an address, where the incident is believed to have happened.
Paramedics also attended the scene and confirmed that they were called to reports of a ‘stabbing.’ Marian Gheorghe, 52, was found in a critical condition and confirmed dead at the scene, said West Midlands Police.
Vicala Gheorghe, 49, was found with serious injuries and taken to University Hospital Coventry in Walsgrave. She died a short time later, said West Midlands Ambulance Service.
Marian and Vicala were former partners and post-mortems will take place next week to establish how they both died, said West Midlands Police. Detectives are continuing to establish what happened but described the incident as ‘isolated.’
A 63-year-old man, who lives on nearby Swan Lane, told CoventryLive: “I do not know any finer details about what really did happen, but I could feel it in the atmosphere, I was almost sort of waiting for it to happen, so it did not in any way come as a shock to me the fact that it happened.”
Tributes for Vicala and Marian have poured in on Facebook. Kim Mclaren Ogom said: “RIP. Thoughts with family at this sad time.”
Bonita Scott commented: “OMG, that is so awful.” Cllr Rupinder Singh, of Lower Stoke, also described the incident as ‘very sad.’
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We are offering support to family members during this distressing time. Anyone with information can contact us via 101 or Live Chat quoting log 469 of April 5.”
