Marian and Vicala were former partners who both died on Friday April 5

A man and woman who died in Coventry on Friday (April 5) have been named as former partners. Mother of six, Vicala Gheorghe, 52, was confirmed dead at the scene when police were called to Caludon Road in Stoke after 5.30am.

Officers remained at the scene on Friday and described the incident as ‘isolated’. Marian Gheorghe, 49, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but he died shortly after.

Forensic post-mortems will take place next week to establish the causes of death. Police are continuing with enquiries into exactly what happened, but detectives strongly believe Marian injured Vicala, and then himself.
