Everton v Burnley team news: Sean Dyche shares Amadou Onana update
Sean Dyche has issued a team news update ahead of the relegation six pointer between Everton and Burnley.
The Toffees play host to the Clarets at Goodison Park on Saturday, 6 April, in what is a must-win game for both teams.
Dele Alli and Lewis Dobbin were already ruled out and Dyche has revealed that Amadou Onana is a doubt while Arnaut Danjuma will also miss out due to an injury but he is back with the squad.
Onana will be assessed on Friday before a decision is made on his availability.
Everton cannot afford to drop points
For Everton, losing is not an option due to the precarious position they find themselves in the Premier League table.
With only a few matches remaining in the season, every point matters, especially for a team battling relegation.
The Toffees’ struggles throughout the season, compounded by the six-point deduction they faced, have put them in a dire situation where they are fighting tooth and nail to avoid the drop. A loss in their upcoming match against Burnley would exacerbate their already challenging predicament.
Given their inconsistent form and the pressure of the relegation battle, a defeat could severely dent their morale and further decrease their chances of survival.
Additionally, with Burnley also fighting for survival, a loss would not only harm the Toffees’ own position but also potentially boost their rival’s hopes of staying in the Premier League.\
Hopefully, they start strongly and get the crowd roaring for the entirety of the contest.
In other Everton news, the documents related to a Toffees first-team player are on the table of a Champions League club with a summer exit on the cards.
