Harry made a shocking Huddersfield Town vs Coventry City prediction

The72’s writers offer their Huddersfield Town vs Coventry City prediction ahead of the Championship clash on Friday.

Huddersfield Town are in a relegation battle down at the bottom of the Championship. They are inside the drop zone on goal difference as they prepare to face Coventry City.

The Terriers have eight games left of this season to save themselves. They drew 0-0 away at Rotherham United in their last outing before the international break.

As for Coventry City, they are sat in 8th place in the table. Mark Robins’ men are four points off the play-offs as they look for redemption after last season’s Wembley defeat to Luton Town.

They have a game in hand on 6th position Norwich City. The Sky Blues also have an FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United to look forward to.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Huddersfield Town are winless in their last four games and have won just once in their last five.

JAMES RAY

The Terriers need to start picking up more wins to avoid dropping into League One and could be tricky opponents for promotion hopefuls Coventry City.

“However, the Sky Blues will be full of confidence after Premier League side Wolves in their last clash in the FA Cup.

“Mark Robins’ men are still in with a great shout of sneaking into the top six as they battle it out with Norwich City and Hull City. I think they will sneak it here at the John Smith’s Stadium.”

Huddersfield Town vs Coventry City prediction: 1-2

James Ray

“Huddersfield Town have no choice but to fight tooth and nail. They’ve seen their form slide away again and relegation remains a real possibility heading into the business end of the season.

“They’re not in for an easy game this weekend either. Coventry City are a dangerous side and as they battle for a top six spot, they’re going to be giving it their all too.

“It could lead to a pretty competitive game but ultimately, I think it’s hard to see the hosts getting a valuable win. Coventry’s advantage in terms of potency at the top of the pitch will be the difference here.
