HOW POSSIBLE: £30m winger compared to Mo Salah in the few weeks…..

Tottenham could open negotiations with £30m winger compared to Mo Salah in the few weeks

Tottenham are planning to make more signings this summer as they prepare to back Ange Postecoglou in the market again.

Daniel Levy and the board have been impressed with Postecoglou’s impact at the club. They backed him in January with new signings, as the likes of Timo Werner, Radu Dragusin and Lucas Bergvall were all signed.

As it stands, Tottenham are in the mix to reach the top four and with an extra Champions League place potentially available, European football is a big possibility for Spurs.

Tottenham lead charge for thriving attacker thanks to great Daniel Levy relationship; achievable price tag emerges

Of course, to compete with the best teams in Europe, the squad needs to be ready. And at the moment, there is an acceptance at the club that more strength in depth is needed.

New signings will help that this summer. One man who has been linked with a move to Tottenham is Genoa winger, Albert Gudmundsson.

The Icelandic star has ten goals for Genoa this season and starred for his country last night. And according to reports from Italy, Tottenham could make their move pretty soon.

Tottenham could open talks with Albert Gudmundsson

According to a report from Quotidiano Sportivo, Tottenham are at the front of the queue when it comes to trying to sign Gudmundsson for around £30m.

It’s claimed that Spurs would really like to sign the winger and that talks could even start in the next few weeks over a deal.

The report suggests that the past negotiations with Genoa to sign Radu Dragusin put Spurs in good space for the 26-year-old.

Tottenham are expected to spend and the £30m quoted for the Iceland international will not put them off.

Gudmundsson draws comparisons to Mo Salah

For Tottenham, adding more firepower to the squad and getting players who make a difference in the final third is always going to be key.

They have not really replaced Harry Kane directly, so getting players across the field who can score seems a sensible move.

Gudmundsson comes highly-rated. Indeed, there’s even been comparisons to Liverpool hero, Mo Salah.

“He reminds me of Salah when he was at Roma, in that every now and then he disappears. Much like Salah then, he would have four or five chances per match and only score at most one. They used to say that if Salah was more clinical, he would be playing for Liverpool, and that is exactly what happened. All joking aside, Gudmundsson is a devastating player and also an exemplary professional,” Kevin Strootman said of the winger.

Tottenham, then, could be getting quite the player if they can get this deal over the line.
