ESPN News: The ‘Left-handed Cy Young winners’ quiz

After winning his second Cy Young Award in 2023, Blake Snell figured to have a robust market in free agency. Instead, he ended up signing a two-year, $62 million deal with the San Francisco Giants that includes an opt-out that will allow him to hit the market again next offseason if he so chooses. While still a rich deal in the short term, it’s a far cry from the six-year, $150 million deal he reportedly turned down from the New York Yankees back in January. Now, Snell hopes that he can reclaim the same magic in the same state but with a new team in what is now a de facto contract year for the 31-year-old ace.

Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. A left-handed pitcher has won the MLB Cy Young Award a total of 40 times, including Snell who has done it twice. So with that in mind, how many of these award-winning southpaws can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
