Declan Rice reacts to West Ham loanee after what happened

Arsenal star Declan Rice has reacted to West Ham loanee Said Benrahma after he scored his first goal for Lyon.

The winger opened his account for his temporary club in their 2-1 win over FC Metz on Friday (23 February).

Former Premier League striker Alexandre Lacazette also netted for Lyon as they secured all three points away from home.

Taking to Instagram to celebrate the goal and win, Benrahma wrote: “Happy to score my first goal, big thanks to the supporters for the support,” with Rice liking the post.

Benrahma had quite the struggle at the London Stadium in the winter transfer window as he tried to clinch a loan move to Lyon.

And despite it looking like he would remain in East London, the Algerian did eventually manage to make a last-minute switch to France.

His exit was somewhat inevitable, however, given his lack of minutes under David Moyes this season. And when given the chance, the winger failed to impress, having failed to find the back of the net in any of his 22 Hammers appearances.

He has now turned things around at Lyon, with Benrahma already on one goal from his three appearances, with his first coming against Metz.

Impressively, he needed just 15 minutes to find the back of the net after coming on as a half-time substitute.

Despite leaving West Ham for Arsenal last summer, former skipper Rice is clearly keen on checking up on his former London Stadium teammates.
