What Roy Hodgson was doing which led to constant injuries in Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace’s injury woes have been a real issue this season with Roy Hodgson getting the blame often and now it’s been explained why.

This season, Crystal Palace‘s best players have been struggling with injury woes to the extent that it’s possibly ruined this campaign.

Michael Olise has been worst affected in terms of the amount of injuries he’s suffered. Meanwhile, Cheick Doucoure has been out for pretty much the entire campaign.

For Olise, Roy Hodgson was blamed as he frequently rushed the Frenchman back from injury, often leaving fans fuming.

According to a report by The Athletic, there were concerns over Hodgson’s training sessions leading to injuries.

“Concerns were mounting that Palace’s training sessions were not sufficiently intense and that was a factor behind the club’s injury record.”

Ultimately this is likely what has cost Hodgson his position at the club due to how Olise probably could’ve carried Palace to safety on his own had he been fit.

While the issues are heavy right now in the injured department, Palace’s injury list could be about to shorten in the next few weeks.

Marc Guehi is one who’s set to return imminently, with Saturday’s game against Burnley a possible return date. This is also the game which could see Eberechi Eze return to action with the Daily Mail suggesting he is close.

Olise’s return date is unknown currently as he’s expected to be missing for a substantial period. Doucoure and Will Hughes‘ return are both also currently unknown, with that situation also the case with Rob Holding and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.
