West Ham United manager David Moyes has just made an utterly bizarre statement regarding his ambitions in the Premier League this season.
David Moyes is under intense pressure in his role as West Ham manager right now, and the owners are said to be seriously unimpressed with last weekend’s 6-0 hammering from Arsenal.
The Hammers face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League tomorrow, and nothing less than a win will do, in order to ease the pressure on Moyes.
The West Ham fans have become completely disillusioned with the Scot over the past few months. The football that he deploys is utterly turgid, and the way that he speaks fails to inspire, what with his dour approach to our games.
Moyes was at it again when speaking to reporters during his press conference this afternoon, and you will not believe what he said about his aim for the remainder of the season…
The Scot spoke to reporters this afternoon about his hopes and goals for the remainder of the Premier League campaign.
And Moyes opened up on how many more Premier League wins he is targeting this season, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“We want to keep up the good results we’ve had, and if we can pick up another five or so wins this season it will get us in a good position.”
West Ham have 14 Premier League games remaining this season, and to be targeting just five wins from those outings is quite frankly ridiculous.
We’re currently on 36 points. If we win another five games, that would put us on 51 points. Let’s say we draw four out of the other nine games, we’ll end the season on 55 points – a tally that would have been good enough to finish inside the top seven only once in the past five seasons.
The lack of ambition shown by Moyes is an utter joke when you think about it. We’re not ‘little old West Ham’ anymore.
The Scot has spent some serious cash over the past few years at the London Stadium, and we should be expecting to compete for a top six place year in, year out.
David Moyes clearly has no proper ambition to take West Ham forward, and that’s a disgrace as far as I’m concerned.
