“Written all over it” Leicester City vs Sheffield Wednesday score prediction

Sheffield Wednesday head to the King Power Stadium to face runaway leaders Leicester City in the Championship later tonight.

The Owls go into this one on the back of a much-needed 2-0 win against Birmingham City at Hillsborough last time out, with Ike Ugbo scoring his first goals for the club.

That win ended a run of six games without one, with Danny Rohl‘s side now five points behind Huddersfield Town in 21st.

The Foxes meanwhile are nine points clear of Southampton in 2nd, beating Watford 2-1 in their last outing, having now lost just one of their last 17 in all competitions.

Making his score prediction for the game between Leicester City and Sheffield Wednesday tonight, former Owls man and now Sky Sports pundit David Prutton wrote:

“Leicester are cruising away. Every time you think there is the smallest of chances they could get dragged in, they go and reel off another few wins on the bounce to pull even further ahead of the pack.

“Sheffield Wednesday got a massive, massive win on Friday night over Birmingham. But this is not the game they would have wanted to run into to try and build momentum. It’s got home win written all over it.”

Few gave the Owls a prayer in that one, yet they pulled a 1-1 draw out of nowhere, sparking a run of positive results through December which gave fans reason to believe that they can beat the drop this season.

Away from home tonight, it’ll certainly be tougher. But Rohl only needs to remind his players of that 1-1 draw a few months ago, and with names like Ugbo, Ian Poveda, and James Beadle now in the side, the Owls could have an improved chance of taking something from tonight’s game.

But Enzo Maresca will view this one as a must-win for his Leicester City side tonight; anything less would be a huge disappointment.

Leicester have really been ramping up their title charge in recent weeks. Nothing looks set to stop them as they continue to pull clear at the top with wins in their last three in the Championship, and 10 goals scored as well.

Sheffield Wednesday need to utilise their underdog tag tonight, and most importantly take their chances when they come.
